We have moved to London

So many things have happened in the last few months. In December we packed up our little Brooklyn apartment, and put our things on a ship to the UK. New York has been my home for the last four and a half years, and it was very sad leaving. Then again, our next stop was Australia where we got a month and a half of summer, had a lovely Christmas and New Year’s Eve, and then got married. That was all rather lovely. And then a little over a week ago, we arrived in London where we will now be living for the foreseeable future.

If anyone has recommendations for London-based food, I would love to hear them!

    1. Thanks – I am sure we will be missing having good bagels around very soon, so great to know where to get some here!

  1. Welcome to London! My current favourite is Wahaca, Mexican street food. Go to wahaca.co.uk for more details and locations. Very tasty and reasonably priced. Happy eating!

  2. I second the Brick Lane bagels, but make sure you go to the yellow one, NOT the blue and white one – they are next to each other and at the top of Brick Lane (cnr Bethnal Green Rd)

    Can definitely recommend:

For a great coffee (they have flat whites!) and nice breakfast:

I would also recommend the best felafel kebab I’ve ever eaten at Whitecross Street Market near Barbican

    1. Great article – I am such a fan of Ottolenghi (his restaurant on Upper Street in Islington played a bit of a role in where we were looked for a flat when we first arrived here).

  3. hello Cressida
I know the Westbourne Grove area and can confidently recommend
    al-Waha (Lebanese)
    Taqueria (real Mexican)
    Hereford Road (British)
    Royal China, Queensway (dim sum)
